When you arrive, you will be greeted by one of our friendly staff. We offer you tea and water in the reception area. You will be asked to fill out a health intake form, so that we can best access your needs for the session. It will also give us information as to your health history and any important medical conditions you may have. We then take you into the treatment room, and go over your intake form with you, and create a session treatment plan. The practitioner will then leave you to undress to your comfort level, and return when you are comfortable on the table. You will then receive a 30, 60 or 90 minute session, depending on what you schedule. The practitioner will step out of the room at the end of the session to give you privacy to get dressed. Your practitioner will return, go over any home care strategies, and make recommendations for future appointments.
We adjust the pressure of each session to suit our clients needs. Some people want to relax, and some people have specific areas of concern that we can address. If the pressure is not comfortable for you, just tell the practitioner and they will adjust it to suit your needs.
We are non judgmental and see all types of people all the time. We only uncover the part of you that we are working on at that time. If we are massaging your arm, only your arm is uncovered. If you prefer to leave your underwear on, it is up to you. But rest assured we go out of our way to ensure you feel safe and comfortable. You will be professionally covered by a sheet and blanket at all times.
Depending on the type and severity of an injury, most likely massage can help. For more information we recommend you call us to discuss the details of your specific condition.
Yes! We love working with pregnant mothers. It is generally safe to receive massage when you are pregnant. If you have any complications, we would need a note from your health care provider stating that it is ok for you to receive massage. We use care during pregnancy to ensure the comfort and safety of the mother, by using pillows and bolsters depending on which trimester she is in. We have worked with many pregnant clients through the years. You can also receive a post natal massage, and bring your newborn with you. You can either lie the baby on your belly while you receive the massage, or keep them in the car seat. The babies love the soft music and lighting. It’s a great way to relax after labor, and take care of your self.
Yes, we ask that if you are unable to keep an appointment that you give us as much notice as possible. If it is less than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment, we charge you 50% of the regular service fee. For our groupon customers, you can still use your voucher for a half hour massage, with no additional fee.
This is something you would need to check with your insurance carrier. In personal injury cases, sometimes massage therapy is covered, when recommended by a chiropractor or physician. If your insurance does cover massage, we ask that you pay us upfront, then submit the paperwork, and get reimbursed by the insurance directly. We do accept personal health savings account plans.
It is up to your discretion in regards to tipping your practitioner. If you enjoyed your session, the customary rate is 20%. If you have a gift certificate, or received a discount on the service, it is customary to tip on the full price of the service. Gratuities are always greatly appreciated! We accept cash or Venmo for gratuity.
For the massage we use USDA certified organic sesame, jojoba, and sunflower seed oils. For facials we use an excellent line of all natural products from Aubrey Organics. We offer complimentary aromatherapy to all of our clients, and custom blend the essential oils into each of our massages and facials.
